Is it worth a buy on Switch? – Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is an amazing sequel to the first game, and this one focuses on enhancing some old mechanics, while also introducing new and exciting ones. Monster Hunter Stories 2 feels like a Monster Hunter game mixed with Pokemon. You get to walk around in this open world, collecting different types of monsters, while also using them to help you fight them. To beat these monsters, you will need to choose between three different types of attacks, and each one of them has an advantage against the other. So if you’re a fan of the Monster Hunter series, and you’re a bit tired of Pokemon, you should give Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin a try.
Is It Worth It?
Lately, a lot of games are being released for the Nintendo Switch, and there are all types of games, for all types of gamers. Monster Hunter is an amazing franchise, and Monster Hunter Stories 2 has a different take on what Monster Hunter usually offers. It is instead a JRPG, where it focuses more on its story, while also having a different style of combat mechanics. It has a pocket monster type of gameplay, where you use your monsters, to fight against other ones. You can roam around this world, while fighting against monsters, and searching for monster eggs, that will reward you with new Monsties.
The combat system is easy to get used to, and here is how it works. There are three different types of Monsties. Power, technical, and speed. Power is better against technical, technical beats speed, and speed beats power. So when fighting against monsters, you will need to carefully choose which attack type to use, so that you can defeat monsters with ease. Your monsties have only one type of attack, so it is always good to have two types of Monsties with different types so that you can swap them if needed.
So, Should You Buy It (again)?
Monster Hunter Stories 2 can offer you hours of fun, especially if you’re into this genre of games. The fact that you can play it on your Switch, means that you can play the game at home, or when going out on vacation. You can spend some time collecting Monsties and finding the best ones to add to your team. With the Switch version, you also get to use three unique Amiibos, that when used, will give you new armor designs, that are only cosmetic. The game is still pretty new, so updates are coming out frequently, and there are also some Free Updates for the game.
If you’re looking for a new relaxing game for you to play on your Switch, why not give Monster Hunter Stories 2 a try? It is a pretty fun game, that you can sink hours into, by breeding and finding all types of Monsties. The game has a pretty interesting story, fun combat, and pretty graphics for the Nintendo Switch.
If you already own it on PC just beware that there are some System and Region Locks that prevent true Crossplay. Pretty sad…
