π Tips and Tricks- Tainted Grail: Conquest
Hello everyone, today weβre going to be talking about some basics of the game, we usually talk more about how to play certain classes, but I think that talking about the more simple aspects of the game is something good. Here I will share some tricks that can help you get better at the game, and also share some information that you mightβve not known. So if you want to learn more about the game, hopefully, this will give you enough information to get started!
The Seamstress
First, letβs talk about the Seamstress, and how important she is during runs. She can be found in the village, and she offers you multiple upgrades that can be bought with blood. You can get blood by killing enemies. When talking to her you will be able to upgrade your health. Which would give you a great general health boost. But also increase your % when going for a low health Berserker like in our Guide.
But one of the best things to get first is the Armor Upgrade. On Rank 5 you can start your run with 25 Armor! This is huge if you go for the Summoning Classes and Ranged Classes. The Summoning Classes do depend on the Golem to stay safe and the Golems Armor is based on your own. Then Ranged Classes do generate Barrier based on the Amount of Armor. No Armor, no Barrier. Pretty simple.
Also remember to visit her during a run. You can buy Passives from her. The first one starts at a 100 Wealth and doubles afterwards. So if you want to kick start your run, go for a passive and use your blood!
Small Deck

When playing, most of the time it is better to have a small deck, and the reason for that is quite simple. Having fewer cards in your deck will make it that you draw better cards more frequently. Having lots of great cards in your deck can be enough to charm you into having as many cards as possible, but it will reduce the chances of you actually drawing them. So it is better for you to choose fewer cards.
During your journey, you will come across certain NPCs that will offer to remove a card from your deck, for example, the Armed Wanderer. For 100 gold, he will remove one card from your deck. You can also speak with the Master-At-Arms in the village, as he also can remove cards from your deck. However, the more you pay for that service, the more expensive it gets.
Additionally cards that redraw and cost nothing are really great to fish for the cards you want. One of them is Reposition. Its only available for Melee Classes but with this 0 cost card you can discard your hand and just draw 5 new cards. Another good way would be Tactic Mastery the Special Card from the Man At Arms which can be bought for 75 Wealth. This one discards your hand and redraws the same amount (-1 because we played a card duh) which are cost reduced by 1. Amazing card.
Last way to make your deck better is to remember to use items! Tome of Knowledge and Talking Skull can really help drawing good cards.
Runestones and Runestone Dust
Runestones are extremely important during your run, so be sure to always read what they do, and donβt forget to equip them with both your armor and weapon. Remember that you can buy additional Runestones slots in the Blacksmith to start a run with 2 Weapon and 2 Armor Slots.
A small Runestone trick is to not always merge them. If you have 3 Ethels which would grant 3Γ10 Armor you would have more if you use them directly. If you merge them you only get 1 Level 2 Ethel which grants you 17 instead of 30. Same with an Ur for Cost Reduction or and Yr for Duplication. Triple Yr is monstrous
If you need to farm Runestone Dust make sure to merge all Runestones at the end of the run. To get more Runestones there are multiple ways. Buy everything from the Blacksmith and Rune Stone Carrier. At Futhark choose just some Runestones for Merging and check out the upcoming Windmill tip.

Armor Reduction/Shredding

When fighting against enemies, it is always important to have an ability that reduces the enemyβs armor. Doing so will help you win fights easier, as you will be able to deal more damage. Certain classes have skills that will reduce the enemyβs armor, and you can come across NPCs that will give your cards with that effect. Death Mark is one of the best Cards to get on Summoning Classes and on the Sentinel make sure to get Target Practice!
If you want an in-depth guide on Armor, we have a Guide for that.
Farming the Windmill

When coming across the Windmill Quest make sure to finish this. Doing so will allow you to return to the Windmill later, and trade 10 human livers to fight against a boss. If you win, you will gain exp, and get loot, and if you lose, you will be left alive with only 10 HP. This is really good as you can use this to farm and fight as many times as you can, depending on how many human livers you have. Iβm mostly getting the Windmill in Area 3 so I can get easily to max Level and/or farm on this.
