🎰 Should You Gamble? – Tainted Grail: Conquest
Today I’m gonna be talking about gambling, and how it can be beneficial to you, but at the same time, it can end up also making you lose all of your coins. So let’s see if it is worth taking the risk, and bet your coins for the possibility of getting rich!
The Ghost
At the start of every run, if you wish, you can always go and speak with the Ghost. You can gamble 100 hundred coins with him, and you can either win the gamble, and get an extra 100 hundred coins, or lose the 100 hundred coins. Although this is a high-risk high-reward situation, the amount of coins you can earn is different depending on what difficulty you’re playing. The explanation above is what would happen if you are playing in difficulty 1. You have three chances to gamble with the Ghost, and for every coin toss, there is a 50% chance that you can either win or lose.
Is It Worth The Risk?
Although losing 100 coins right at the start of the run can be rough, the fact that you can also win 200 coins as a reward makes it worth it. And as mentioned before, the higher the difficulty you play in, the higher the reward is in case you win. You could always just restart if you lose the first gamble
As an example, in difficulty 1, you can win 200 coins every time you gamble. But if you play on difficulty 11 for example, where you gain 200% more wealth, you will gamble 100 coins, and in return, you will get 300 coins. So the higher the difficulty, the more coins you can earn when gambling with the Ghost.
This mechanic is perfect for players who like a little bit of adrenaline, as the extra coins at the start of the run can really make a difference, and help you through your run. This also is a great way to try and make players play the game on higher difficulties since the rewards will be greater the harder the difficulty. Some people are not fans of trying their luck with the Ghost, but I like to be adventurous, and gamble with the Ghost in every single run I do. Sometimes I get lucky, and sometimes I don’t, but that is part of the fun!
You can gamble three times in total for each run. At the beginning you can only gamble once since you start with 100 coins. When gambling with the Ghost, there are two possible outcomes, you can either win, and gain an extra 100 gold, or lose 100 gold. However, in difficulty 10, thanks to an upgrade that can be acquired with The Seamstress, you can get a bonus up to 50% wealth. That in total would mean 240%, but due to a bug in the game, it only counts as 230%. I’ll show some examples below of the outcomes.
Difficulty 10 + 50% Seamstress Upgrade
Bet = 100
Odds = 240%
Reward = Bet + Odds = 100 + (240% x 100) = 100 + 240 = 340
Difficulty 1 and no Seamstress Upgrades
Bet = 100
Odds = 100% of bet
Reward = Bet + Odds = 100 + (100% x 100) = 100 + 100 = 200
Consecutive Wins
Chances of winning are:
The number of rounds you’re gonna play x the possible outcomes.
The possible results of three consecutive plays are :
W – W – W
W – W – L
W – L – L
W – L – W
L – W – W
L – L – W
L- W- L
L – L – L
The odds for each round are random, and therefore, each carries a 50% chance. Which means each letter represents ½. This makes the example :
Three Consecutive Flips
½ x ½ x ½ = ⅛ = 12.5%
This means W – W – W and L – L – L have a 12.5% chance of happening. This also applies to every single result, as every coin toss is different.
So 12,5% Chance to Win or Lose it all, BUT after Difficulty 10 you get your Money back (and some chance) if you just win once. The chance to win once out of three flips is 87,5%! The chance to win 2 out of 3 is 50%! So I would argue that gambling on your Tainted Grail Run ist worth the risk!
